With the drop in temperatures, winter shelters are thankfully opening their doors to receive our homeless friends. As usual, this will lead to a corresponding decrease in the number of rough sleepers on the streets. RNI's annual Homeless Winter Programme is structured to reflect this switch.
During the colder winter months, our homeless service will remain fully operational, providing regular support to those who rely on us for various needs. However, we will activate our strategy for the colder months on the 1st of December. Here is what to expect:
Smaller impactful soup kitchen events.
Broader outreach activities to cover underserved areas of London and other parts of the country.
More mobile outreach events to support rough sleepers without access to day/night shelters.
More (dual) indoor and outdoor volunteering opportunities.
Greater emphasis on food bank activities.
Enhanced housing support service.
