Fighting Poverty & Feeding Underserved Communities with Sainsbury's, The UK's 2nd Largest Supermarket Chain

Sainsbury's Supermarket was founded by John James Sainsbury in 1869. From its humble beginning at Drury Lane, the supermarket became the largest grocery retailer in the United Kingdom. It occupied that dominant position for most of the 20th century. Refuge Network is proud to be working with volunteers from Sainsbury's. We are grateful for their volunteering support at our community outreach programme and for microwaves, refrigeration, and cooking appliances received as donations from the company. Thank you!
